I passed my driving theory exam today in the second attempt and feel like I must share the experience with everyone who is not from Germany and may not have a lot of information from personal connections as to how to pass this test. I will try to keep the post short and in form of tips. Stick to them and you are sure to pass without having to repeat the test.
1- DO NOT buy the shitty app your driving school is trying to sell you. I did this mistake and assumed the app would prepare me for the exam. I solved everything in the app and passed 15 mock tests in the app in a row and assumed i was prepared. I failed the test because there were many questions in the test that did not show up in the app. I inquired and got to know that the school gave me the basic version of the app that did not have all the questions! I paid 60 Euros for incomplete preparation data! When i later asked the school to give me the premium version of the app so I can have complete prep material they said they give only the basic version! What loot! Also then I realised that for every theory exam, driving schools earn about 100 Euros. So the more the attempts, the better for them. Anyway next-
2- Make sure you prepare all the 1204 questions (as of today) that are in the official question bank. With the full question bank, I prepared and passed the exam in 2 weeks. Every question in the exam was from the question bank. And this is how the exam is supposed to be prepared. I used:
https://en.fuehrerschein-bestehen.de
3- If you have the right material to prepare and really prepare every question well, you don’t need anything else. Some questions are so weird that even great theory lessons or great understanding of topics will not help. You just need to have answered them before to be able to answer them right in the exam.
Bottom line- your driving school has no interest in you passing quickly and economically. In fact the more expensive it gets for you, the more beneficial it gets for them (both theory and practical). So be smart.
All the best. Feel free to ask questions.
Cheers

I’m surprised driving schools try to sell you apps. I’m not planning on doing a license anytime soon but even just from hearsay I know from friends/coworkers that ALL the questions are for free online.
