Went to see the study myself, out of interest.
In general most people said they were either positive or neutral about gay, bisexual and trans people, which is good to hear.
Interesting observations:
Welsh people, for some reason, were less likely to say they viewed any of the groups positively. Which doesn’t mean they were more negative because they weren’t, they were just neutral on everything apparently.
Women across the board were much more likely to view each group positively.
In a twist that will surprise nobody, conservative voters were more likely to view all groups more negatively, and were significantly more negative than everybody else about trans people (38% compared to Labour voters’ 12% and Lib Dem voters’ 20%).
> Cisgender lesbians and bisexual women in particular are likely to have positive feelings towards trans people, at 84%, including 66-68% who say “very positive”. This mirrors national polling which shows that women are generally more likely to hold pro-trans views than men.

it’s sad how well the distraction campaign by the right in the UK and USA. there are so few trans people their existence affects nobody. any example of issues like sports is so niche people should evaluate what matters because I doubt they cared about that sport before
I think the case of the rapist who then wanted to identify as a woman caused a lot of ill-feeling, and those who transition without causing any crimes or ever doing have in part had the backlash.
