If you’re running up tens of thousand of euro of debt you’re in trouble.
The amount of people with drug debts that they must pay off by dealing drugs has increased since it became known that judges will accept that story as mitigation to give you a lighter sentence.
So as a result despite there being a mandatory ten year minimum for possession of over 13k of drugs everybody actually receives way less than the mandatory minimum.
