Are they taking delivery after the war is over?
Why not order a submarine?
I’d love to know the reasoning for buying these – it seems to me to be a poor choice of ship for the environment they find themselves in (which I assume means I’m missing something rather than that Ukraine is wrong or anything). As far as I can tell the area denial aspect they can do would be better served by larger numbers of smaller fast attack craft (and indeed they ordered some of those too from the UK). The anti submarine aspect is certainly nice on paper, but close to shore that’s probably something better done by maritime patrol aircraft and further away in the south eastern Black Sea or around the Bosporus I kinda doubt that these vessels would be able to operate amongst the Black Sea Fleet…so it seems a weird choice.
