I don’t have any trust that she is sincere at all. How many tourists had to be beaten up before she did anything?
Any resources? I fucking doubt it
>violence on our streets will not be tolerated
Evidence would suggest otherwise
As a member of an garda siochana who works very hard to bring people before the courts I have to say it doesn’t matter what resources they give. They have failed to build prisons therefore what penalty are these people facing. They will be brought to justice but what deters them from going and assaulting people again? Even if they get a sentence will they serve even a fifth of the total time?
We are constantly arresting the same repeat offenders and despite the crimes they commit they are out before we can blink.
They will get legal aid paid for by the state aswell regardless of how many convictions they have. Where’s the Incentive to stop acting like animals?
It’s time to punish offenders appropriately. There should be zero tolerance for any violent offence. Of all offences threats and physical violence should carry prison sentences. It should be mandatory if its a repeat violent offence. Any type of violence. It should NOT be tolerated.
Alot of violent offenders don’t end up in court because the victims are afraid or don’t think its worth the time. The offenders continue to offend. Some of this has to do with the poor punishments and lack of prison time dealt to these offenders. Why would a victim put themselves through all that court, when the person who attacked them might not serve a day in prison and be able to torment them?
Government is going to have to start making it look worthwhile for people to make statements, and bring people to court. Gardai can only act with the assistance of victims for violent offenders. And even when acted upon, what’s the penalty? All that work from the Gardai and the victim? For what? A measly tick box conviction with little to no penalty.
Doubtless that the suspended sentences will be swift and severe.
Sure that’s what you said the last 4 times Helen

Ak47 and armoured cars incoming
Nolan reading this and just laughing maniacally…

She is to have a full armed escort in riot gear for her next photo op.
5 year jail sentence would be a joy
judges just let them out with slap on wrist, garda are more interested in giving out driving tickets to collect money than do real police work
