Firstly I would like to say thank you to everybody that commented on my first post to r/Norway, I never expected such a fantastic response from so many of you!
I have scoured so many pages of the internet and learned so much about Norway, it’s art and history.
I ditched the vegvisir straight away, and replaced it with a rosemaling circular pattern for the face of the compass, it’s such a beautiful style I’m going to try and purchase a locally produced piece on my visit.
I’ve replaced the generic pointy mountains with a profile of the snohetta mountain, I was blown away with stunning scenery whilst looking at all the mountains in Norway (and there’s a lot!!), we’ve now reorganised our schedule so we can visit this piece of natural beauty in person.
I know the waves aren’t Norwegian but I struggled to find a better idea to represent the seas and water all around your country.
The little hut is identical to the one we’ll be staying in at kirkenes but it wouldn’t look right without the northern lights represented.
Again I want to say thank you and this project has made me certain that I’m going to love every minute of my adventure to your beautiful country, I’m continuing my research and am fascinated with the troll lore!
I can’t wait to be there in person with my wife making life lasting memories.
