So no one has posted this, so I did as I wanted to ask a question. But I’ve seen this news story a few times over the past couple of months, and I don’t know whether it’s just the Guardian, but so much of the content almost seems to frame that the UK was complicit in the holocaust because it was done on UK territory, but the islands were occupied by the Nazis so the accusation seems ridiculous? Is there anything I’m missing?
It’s important to note that it happened for historical accuracy I guess, but the UK is definitely not responsible in any moral or practical sense for what the Nazis did when occupying the territory. The Guardian headline is written vaguely for maximum clickbait.
