Up in Dublin with the wife and she wanted a Nandos. Got the sharing platter 2 drinks and hummus. The drinks machichine was out so was only getting flat syrup. We ate the hummus and were served the mains. My wife asked is there meant to be another breast of chicken. They said no we were to share the one piece. No joing it was quarter on an inch thichick and the same size as my car key. I upped and said can I have a refund please. Enough is enough with shrinkflation and inflation. A tenners worth of groceries does not make a 50 quid meal. Staff were lovely no fuss got the refund but I’m not parting with money for this crap anymore.

  1. Whilst I’ve never been in a Nandos in my life, I always find it baffling that people go to these fast food places expecting decent food.

  2. Nando’s was never worth it and always a rip off. Never understood how people got so hyped.

  3. Bro next time you visit dublin I’ll make you dinner

  4. Good for you, well done👊🏻💪🏻. Only wish more people said fuck this enough is enough

  5. ELI5, I see 6 pieces of chicken. Still not worth 50 euro though

  6. >No joing it was quarter on an inch thichick and the same size as my car key. I upped and said can I have a refund please.

you could of looked at the price before you ordered

    >Enough is enough with shrinkflation and inflation. A tenners worth of groceries does not make a 50 quid meal.

as yeah the cost of employees are nothing and buildings are free /s

  7. “I upped and said can I have a refund please”

    No you didn’t

  8. That’s not food though is it, it’s a mockery of the colour yellow.

its like you never read the menu

A Whole Chicken with 2 large or 4 regular sides. Great for two people.
    €29.95
    thats what the menu says

  10. I could swear that a lot of UK based franchises have pushed UK inflation prices on their non UK outlets.

  11. Jesus fair play to you for telling them it wasn’t good enough. Fair to say the vast majority of us would be quietly unhappy

  12. The only franchised outlet I bother with anymore is Umi. They’ve gone up in price, unfortunately, to about €7.50 for their best wrap (the Palestinian) but the staff across each shop are so sound and it’s consistently tasty so I don’t mind as much.

I think Nando’s is covering a tonne of sins with an ounce of their sauce. Their sauces are the best thing about them.

  13. Nandos has always ben expensive, I get what your saying.

But they probably have to pay franchise fees, rent / rates for Dublin city centre, pay the employees, electricity etc then make a profit.

Its kind of halfway between fast food and a restaurant, which is a bit weird. what did you do after?

  14. I went to nandos in Dun L. last week and it was pure shite. The chicken butterfly was two small little dry lumps. It used to be far better.

  15. Jeepers that does look garbage. You’d make it yourself for maybe 6 Euro

  16. Great! We need to vote with our wallets – if nobody buys it shit will change

  17. I haven’t been in years, food was utter shite and I remember queuing for ages to get in and then to order and be seated.

    Nice Lego Man key ring

  18. Ireland is a joke now tbh, I’m in Valencia and I know Spain is cheaper but it shouldn’t be soooo much cheaper.

Just googled random menu del dia.

You get two plates of food a desert and a drink from €12-15.

I feel it’s not the wages causing this though but high costs across the board for rent utilities and such that forces places in Ireland to charge criminal amounts.

  19. bualadh bos, my man.

good for you for getting the refund and putting some pushback on this nonsense. I wouldnt have had the guts to ask for a refund but I have stopped buying items I used to buy every week when the prices jumped up, not just a few cent but by a third of the price.

we all need to be more selective in what what we spend our hard earned cash on.

  20. Their chicken portions have definitely got a lot smaller. It was always a bit dear but is a complete rip now
