  1. Yet loads of redditors love to pretend that they would have the balls to stand up to Putin (+ his regime) and pretend that it wouldn’t have consequences for them.

  2. Who is surprised, if anyone? Who is to say that priests are safe if the Kremlin is so careless with the rest of their own citizens (and especially cruel with anti-war activists)?

  3. Churches that blatantly demonstrate that their only purpose is to force the government’s will on the populace are just so revolting.

The Orthodox church preaches to the populace regardless of what the Russian government decides. It’s like it has its own propaganda channel, but one where doubting something is frowned upon in religion.

  4. the head of the russian church, Kirill is an FSB agent

  5. A former general in the KGB who defected revealed that the KGB compromised the Russian Orthodox Church in the 80s, and that has remained in play ever since, now under the FSB. They are an arm of the corrupt Putin regime.

But then, this is pretty classic religion, allying with the government to enforce it’s edicts on a populace and making them docile by promising them a better life after they die – when of course we only get the one. Oldest con in history.

  6. They support Russia in any way they can.

    They deserve all they get.

  7. Like pray for Russia and the dead Tsar and dissesimate Russian propaganda after they stopped with covid conspiracy theories?

  8. As they should. The russian orthodox church is a government shill. Peace in ukraine my ass.
