Literally a disease that becomes more dangerous and harmful over time and we’re just not going to try to deal with it early.
This country is a cruel joke.
Tories keeping their promises of slashing wait times, literally
This is unfortunately something I have just gone through, and I hope they don’t remove these targets unless they have a viable alternative.
I went above the target dates, so I understand why they tend to be missed, for my urgent referral it was 2 weeks and 1 day, from consultant to diagnosis, took another 4 weeks missing the 28 days.
That said, the issue I have with these targets being removed is that the NHS is suffering from a lack off staff, once you get diagnosed they really do move fast on getting scans, blood tests and etc done, and the team really push hard to get these things through, the problem is that they are understaffed, in my hospital I’m lucky they have a specialist in my form of cancer, she is the only one in the hospital and her team is the only one as well what specialises in this.
This screams to me that the bosses are in trouble for not hitting their targets, and instead of fixing the issue, what is causing doctors to miss the targets instead they are trying to remove them so they no longer get in the shit.
How about you use this as a point of evidence that the NHS needs more staffing and funds to function and push on the useless government, which refuses to support the NHS.

Can’t miss ’em if you don’t have ’em!
It’s visionary, really.
