Bibby Stockholm: Asylum seekers should be moved back on the barge despite row over Legionella, says Steve Barclay

  1. Steve Barclay is the human form of gonorrheal discharge.

I will never understand how he even got elected as an MP, let alone why they then made him health Secretary – he’s terrible at it, and doesn’t understand even the most basic facets of his job. I genuinely believe that two toddlers in a trenchcoat could do a better job than him.

Plus he’s just an awful person who is filled with malice and ill intentions (even more so than the average tory, which is saying alot!).

  2. I guess we could send the Cabinet there for a few days to check it’s all ok.

  3. Steve Barclay, the Health Secretary, just nonchalantly endorsing necropolitics – the use of political and social power to determine how a class of humans must live and some will die.

Infected prison boats are a horror movie premise not actual social policy fit for humans. Steve Barclay does know this (he’s Health Secretary, he’s not *that* stupid), he just doesn’t have an iota of empathy in his entire body.

  4. What with the rush to house people on the barge despite questions about fire safety and now the above regarding Legionnella, you can’t help getting the impression the Tories actually *want* some kind of life-ending instance to occur here.

  5. This government is disgusting and I’m embarrassed that they (supposedly) represent us. Rounding asylum seekers up into a confined space and deliberately exposing them to disease sounds like something out of the Third Reich.

If the cruelty doesn’t bother right-wingers, perhaps they should consider the risks of transmission to the general population.

  6. > Asylum seekers should still be put back on the Bibby Stockholm barge despite the row caused by the discovery of Legionella, the health secretary has said.

    > Legionella bacteria can cause a potentially deadly lung infection known as Legionnaires’ disease. It is contracted by people breathing in droplets of water containing the bacteria.

    He’s the fucking **Health Secretary**?

Is he the worst possible person to put in charge of health, or is this just a matter of thinking that it’s all right to give refugees a lung infection?

  7. Oh it’s Steve Barclay, so we should do the exact opposite then.
This guy is yet another example of failing your way to the top.

  8. Instead of second homes I think we should house all MPs on barges like this when they are in London for MP business.

  9. Just to add, ONLY 2 of the individuals came over in ‘small boats, not that there claim is any less valid.

The whole thing is just one sickening spin,to appeal to the very lowest bigot in society…

  10. If I was a lawyer for any of these claimants, I would be dancing a jig at silly comments like this. Reckless and negligent, cutting corners and shouting louder when challenged. Maybe it’s time we had the grown ups in charge as far right slogans clearly don’t translate into sensible policy

  11. Wow, so we are just trying to actively create plague ships now. How anyone can support this government when it behaves this way is beyond me.

  12. Heartless oxygen thieving scum is going to behave as the label suggests.
