Finally a teeny dribble of good news for the NHS. After record deaths during the ‘cold snap’ last year, this measure could keep some vulnerable elderly Tory voters alive until the next election. Four more years.
How about staff to man these beds? Where the fuck are they coming from? I wont be working any extra overtime as i value my sanity more than money.
If this has not been reviewed and agreed with hospitals so this is the correct priority and there is the space and staffing for these beds – then this is nothing more than a bit of PR fluff and electioneering for the Tories.
I also would not be surprised if this money ends up not getting spent for some reason or other
