Golden boys often bring the washing home to get done by the mother, it’s hard to cut the cord.
This isn’t evidence of a housing crisis. This is evidence of a generation of Molly coddled losers who can’t afford to live in their own country.
If you’re not willing to get up early, work hard and try to outbid six Brazilians for a double bed in some shit hole just stay with Mammy and enjoy your virginity.
Or go to Australia
An analysis of the cohort at home into their 30s would be interesting.
Id say many now are from middle class backgrounds, work in an office, own a car etc. Traditionally those that would move out but have family support so can stay at home well into adulthood.
Id say a much lower proportion are those with a trade as they now earn much more than the majority of the above, traditionally looked down upon by the group above too.
If your living at home in your 30s you may need to retrain to earn enough to move out. A lot of white collar jobs just dont pay anymore.
I want to move out so badly.
It gets worse every birthday, I am not an adult.
I am not allowed wash my clothes or cook my own food because “Ill do it wrong”.
I can cook good food and washing clothes is fun.
I live in my childhood bedroom which is still the boys blue we all had as kids and I am not allowed to paint it a different colour other than some shade of white.
It’s embarrassing they still call someone who lives at home a young adult when there plenty of people 30+ who can’t move out..
Really sick of being looked down on by boomers for living at home -the housing crisis has gotten so severe that every friend, sibling or cousin I have are all living at home -except for my cousin who is 34 as his dad inherited a spare house for him to live in. Sorry my dad doesn’t have a spare house like
Yeah well the mammies probably expect the women to help and not the men. Has definitely been the general consensus / what I witness among friends and family though obvious not ALL men disclaimer shite.
