it’s a shame to see how far Ireland has fallen, everyone after a quick buck. It will take deaths to sort it out the housing market and stuffing 20+ people into a house in Clondalkin is a recipe for disaster. Pure greed ruined our little island – imagine a landlord making €11,000 a month! Unfortunately it will be the most vulnerable of society who end up in these dwellings, not “military aged males” that the scum keep telling you about but families who will do anything to keep a roof over their head. Ireland needs to go up, we’re obsessed with a back garden and a driveway – you can fit 40+ people in a small tidy block of apartments and give people a chance at life
I left Ireland in January, 28 years old living in my mam’s box room. Decent job, friends, played my sports and love to visit Dalymount of a Friday night. But it just seemed like I’d be at home forever fast forward a few months and I’ve doubled my wage (I work in logistics) live in a 2 bed apartment 15 minutes from Melbourne CBD for $1000 a month and $150 for utilities, my own little car ($550 insurance for the year) there’s never a good time to leave but by god it will reward you if you take the leap of faith.Tell no one, work hard for some savings and book a flight just leave in the dead of night and never look back

I’ve lived in worse places.

a little irony there

Its kind of scummy alright but what the worst that can happen, its a two story house?
In fairness its not 11k per month because they have to pay 50% tax on it or something so this landlord is not making that much of a profit and will still struggle to pay their mortgage.
/sarcasm
I used to work for a slum landlord who owned a lot of south circular road property. He had to change most of them because of the bedsit law . It ruined rental accommodation imo as the tenants were happy to have a roof over their heads and they actually got social interaction from their Co tenants
Cut off the supply of tenants willing to live in bunkbeds
That’s a pretty sweet apartment you got going there. In Australia, that Dublin spot is a slum.
I’d rather live in a tent and sleep clutching a steak knife.
My option on it, money aside. If your going to put 11 rooms on the market and a potential for around 20/22 people in the house, it needs to be properly kitted out for fire safety IMO, not a fire extinguisher in sight.
How has it got 11 bedrooms? Is downstairs a small kitchen and a load of bedrooms?
I’ve seen 16 people in a house each paying 650. Obviously everything legal /s
My niece went to see this or one very close by the other night, 11 bedrooms, no sitting room and no table or chairs in the kitchen 👌.
I advise all young professionals in Ireland to emigrate, you will quickly realise how much you’re overpaying on nearly everything.
If there’s no punishment everything is allowed.
Any room can be a bedroom if you put a bed in it
