  1. Holy shit there are thousands of mines there. However, a team of small drones dropping grenades could clear a path through for vehicles fairly quickly I would imagine. This tactic could be a significant breakthrough.

  2. That pretty genius. If they could plot them using gps you could get a map or mines

  3. That is an incredibly useful piece of knowledge. The number of mines out there is mind blowing. Every single one is evil. I cannot wait for russia to fuck off.

  4. I have zero idea how mines work. Junk yards have huge magnets for lifting scrap, could one of those be used by a big drone to pick up the mines? Then drop them on the Russians? Or would the mines detonate?

  5. Wow. Good work and holy fuck, that’s a lot of mines.

  6. This is one of the “why the hell did nobody think about it earlier?” moments.

  7. This isn’t new and Russia already uses plastic encased mines that don’t hold nearly as much heat.

  8. Nice! What about wind up wheels or rollers that you can send out into a field to trigger them from a distance?

  9. Right now some geniuses in Ukraine are working on a cheap and effective drone system to map a designated area and target every mine with a grenade until a path has been cut through, this could actually be a really good automated system. Just load up a dozen drones and send them on their merry way, reload and repeat. If they can find a way to use smaller munitions that would make it even more effective.

  10. A good application for AI to plot the gps points and draw a map for safe passage and later removal.

  11. This is not a new tactic and it works very well. Did they just learn about it?
