254 years ago, Napoleon Bonaparte was born in Ajaccio. He is often considered the greatest general in history, revolutionizing warfare and conquering most of Europe. He ended feudalism across Europe, ushering in the modern era on the continent.

I agree except for the part where he is considered the best general. That title obviously goes to Douglas MacArthur
When the checking history, We admired 3 non-Turk generals/emperors in the history:
1) Hannibal
2) Alexander
3) Napoleon
But pushing the old continent was always bad idea. This is the key of British success, maybe.
He was one of the greatest statesmen of the history, the founding father of the modern state as we know it up today.
He occupied several countries in Europe and forced young men of those countries to fight for him in Russia. Don’t think we would see him as a great leader nowadays.
*”The greatest general”* & *”revolutionized warfare”*? I think Gustav II Adolf deserves a bit more credit.
That’s certainly one way to describe the Butcher.
Should of built some ships instead of spending all his money on the army. Rip bozo.
Ended feudalism? If anything, that’s on the French Revolution itself.
Napoleon rather reconfigured feudalism – in the form of a military dictatorship, thus ultimately betraying the ideals of the French Revolution.

… call him a murderer.
This praise somehow reminded me about Napoleon visiting the grave of Frederick the Great of Prussia and telling his generals: “Gentlemen, if this man were still alive, I would not be here”. Fitting that it was von Blücher’s arrival that broke the stalemate at Wareloo.
He also killed a lot of people as all imperialist leaders
