Not a great look for the Gardaí tbf. They can get numbers out to protect the banks but not necessarily the public 🤔
Why are the guards being security guards for BOI?
So muggers, gangs and drugs are below vacant homes and bankers in terms of Garda priorities. Great. Just wish they’d take their wages from the people they work for and not from us.
Why aren’t the banks disconnecting the machines until its sorted? Is there a legal prohibition on them doing it?
More likely that the ATMs are out of cash, and the crowds around empty ATMs are causing issues
This is the final straw. I will never believe the Gards ever again when they say “Ah sure we just don’t have the resources”.
If anyone believes that this is free money, rather than an unsanctioned loan, they are fooling themselves.
Not only will everyone be bound to repay this money, but it’s also going to go in their file. Maybe even affect their credit rating.
Applying for car loans, mortgages, etc, will be harder.
Ah, so the guards can have a physical presence on the streets
Of course the guards can’t respond to all emergency calls but have plenty of capacity to protect corporate interest and property. In Ireland shareholder value reins above all else.
The argument some are making is that they’re preventing people from committing a crime, they aren’t.
Absolutely people are overdrawing but the Garda don’t and can’t know that to universally prevent the public from using ATMs.
By all accounts there’s no public order issues, good natured craic in videos of queues I’ve seen, so again are they policing by assuming everyone is intending to either commit a financial or public order crime? Why should people who don’t bank with BOI be prevented from withdrawing cash?
It’s certainly a bad look seeing Garda standing against ATMs everywhere, would be nice to see them doing it on a permanent basis on street corners instead though.
Or maybe libraries should tell Gardai they have an ATM in their building every time those far right pricks who don’t know what a vulva is turn up to complain about books kid’s have access to.
Our Garda should be ashamed of themselves ….useless lazy cowards
I bet the library staff around the country wish they were as important as boi atms
Can BoI not just switch off their ATM network ?! Seems a bit daft to let it roll.
You people do realise that you don’t have to go to a BOI ATM to withdraw money from BOI?
And according to sources these people/morons aren’t using their BOI cards, they transferred money to Revolut.
