In any other country the government would be forced to step down after a news like this, but this is Poland and I don’t have any expectations anymore.

Hopefully there will be more of those informations going out to the world, so US and EU finally realizes what they are dealing with here. There was too much western investment in Poland to now let it drift away.
This is big, but won’t change a thing in Poland sadly. PIS already illegally wiretapped opposition in 2005-2007. Using other means than Pegasus but whatever. Several people were sued including Ziobro, Kaczyński and Kamiński (chief of one of the intelligency agencies). Kamiński was even sentenced (kind of – there was appeals still proceeded when PIS pardoned him after they won in 2014/2015). Then PIS made him a chief of intelligence agency again and continued with wiretapping.
PIS does not care about law. At all. They openly break constitution and admit it to media (see Pawłowicz quote “this law is obviously unconstitutional but we will vote for it cause we agreed so with Mr. President”). They ignore the laws they don’t like and just instruct police accordingly. Their supporters don’t care as long as they get money.
So there will be no “Polish Watergate”. Poland is already on the level of Russia and Belarus when it comes to rule of law. Law doesn’t matter. PIS can do whatever they want. I highly doubt the next elections will be fair. Arguably the previous ones already weren’t fair (because of wiretapping).
Spoiler alert: There will be no consequences for the ruling party. Maybe they will even get a boost to their approval rate.
Looks like 2019 parliamentary and 2020 presidential elections were rigged. PIS are criminals with no right to govern Poland. If they don’t step down now (which they 100% won’t do) that means that next elections (2023) will also be rigged and they won’t give up power willingly. Democracy in Poland died. There is no independent legal body left which could do anything to them and military seems to be corrupted as well
