1. The forced deportation of the peoples of the North Caucasus: Chechens, Ingush, Karachays and Balkars was carried out by the Soviet authorities in 1943-1944. These actions took a heavy toll on the population of these peoples. They were only able to return home by 1956-1957

2. They did that to tatars too.
