Supposed to be flying to Spain on Thursday to spend Christmas with family, it’s looking more and more unlikely by the day…
Having strict border policies is pointless when you have a highly infectious virus like covid. At best they are potentionally buying themselves an extra few days while fucking their tourism industry. Zero cost benefit analysis by these governments.

I haven’t seen my family in the UK since moving to Germany 2 and a half years ago. It looks ike that will now be three years. Omicron is already everywhere. There is no need for this. Fuck my life.
Will there be the same big condemnation of travel bans there was when we and others closed borders to South Africa?
I just found that bizarre, they were acting as if no borders had been closed throughout the pandemic.
Seems a bit late. 3 weeks ago it may have made as difference, but now Omicron is seeded everywhere. Sit back and enjoy the ride, because nothing will stop this.
This makes no sense, omicron is already in Europe and Uk travellers need to present negative results to go there making it less likely that they would transmit the disease than people already in the country.. I call bs.
Stupid question incoming…So the two week quarantine is to be in your home. My mates are/were due to go to Germany to her sisters for Christmas. How does the quarantine work if your visit is only a few days? I’m assuming you have to do the two full weeks?
It’s just political grandstanding at this point – Omicron is already in Germany so they’re not going to stop it arriving, and the proportion of the spread that’s related to people coming in from abroad is going to be tiny (particularly given that you already need a negative test).
Countries that haven’t got Omicron yet are entirely justified in blocking us just now. But that isn’t true in western Europe.
Well I was going to see friends in the New Year so unless they withdraw their plans on the 3rd I’m fucked, cursed forever to remain on this island.
Can someone with a long term job contract (and an entry visa) starting Jan 1st, travel to Germany from the U.K.?
