“Figures obtained by The Irish Times from the Garda show attacks in Dublin have not increased and are marginally lower. There were 2,353 assaults in public places in Dublin in the seven-month period to the end of July. This compares with 2,429 in the same period last year and 2,535 in 2019, the most recent comparable period before the pandemic.”
So like 336 a month, 84 a week, 12 a day,,, Sure that is that then, its all grand…. Completely delusional… its all very well looking at numbers but have they looked at the type of attacks and the seriousness of them?
And what “other cities” ? Unless they provide numbers to compare i call bullshit.
Easy to have lower numbers with less garda around to do any kind of enforcement

Cool, make it safer.
Turns out it was all just a trick of the light.
I would wager the vast majority of cases go unreported. Who has faith in the Gardaí to actually follow through and catch those responsible?

Well he’s lying
Who is he trying to convince himself and the Minister for lacklustre justice?
Ah it was all just my imagination the whole time……Thanks Drew, you fucking dope.
The man has no shame. How he hasn’t resigned is beyond me.
Dublin is only safer than New York.
If you travel back to the New York from the 80’s.

Fuck off back to your lodge you weasel.
I’d say it’s actually a massive issue Garda commissioner, justice minister fails to acknowledge that there’s a problem … also if there’s no problem then why do we give the Garda €10 million extra funding? 🤔
Annnnnd not only for the regular gards have no confidence in him, the general public don’t either.
That nice cushy job in the Met he’s after won’t be available when the no confidence passes.
Is this like the 1.5million…..yep 1.5mil fake breathalyser tests they did a few years ago..I call bullshit
“Who are you going to trust, me or your lying eyes?”
He’s a Brit plant, has a vested interest in keeping Dublin a shithole
So 8 kicking’s, stabbings or head-stompings EVERY fucking day.
If you’re there a week you have to hope your not one of the 56 people who had life changing damage.
Aye, lovely place.
Based on Garda figures*
Funny that the man accused of being an agent against the state is literally approving action causing chaos in the state… trying very hard not to get lost in a conspiracy theory here.
Ah fair enough so – I’ll just be grateful for us only having one or two major assaults per day so lol
Are we comparing it with Downtown Detroit or something
The standards we endure will be decided by thugs and civil servants deciding on where the state should be placed on a comparative table of other cities. Your role has been assigned to you.
Just stop with the bullshit – digging himself an even deeper hole

I’ve been to lots of cities in Ireland, Europe and South America. Dublin is the absolute worst one for seeing crime, drugs and feeling unsafe in the city centre and tourist areas. Other Cities are very dangerous, but only if you go down certain areas.
I’m not sure it’s safer than other European cities, I’ve been in both Paris and London recently and felt much safer in both of them even very late at night than I do in the centre of Dublin on a weekday afternoon
Ah well that’s ok we must’ve picked it up wrong before, thanks Drew 🙏🏼
I wonder, does he ever go outside… as in, to the real world?
I love good news.
At least they’re winning the war on drugs tho, not a junkie in sight
