We are getting class at veggie sausages, pudding etc.
I had a lecturer in college years ago that joked that the smallest book in the world was an Irish cook book.
I usually blame the famine for this
“You’re not getting any brack until you finish your colcannon”
If food is a mother’s love language then mine was firmly telling me to move out.
Actually others really like our food. I’ve been sat near tourists in restaurants enough times to know that they are usually pleasantly surprised by how tasty everything is here. Our food quality standards are generally the highest in the world. Irish produce is basically the food equivalent of German manufacturing.
“Irish Food” may be ehhhh not so great. But, I swear, the best food I’ve ever had consistently in Europe has been inside of Ireland (I’m American). Seafood and farm-to-table restaurants with creative chefs – better than any meal I’ve had in France, and French food is my favorite. I don’t know if I’ve been just fortunate to have come upon so many of these places, but that consistency has been impressive. The wife agrees.
Quality of the meat and dairy is class in Ireland though. Take a visit to the US and you will know.
