  1. Artur had a fondness for drawing from an early age and attended an art school in Kramatorsk.

Later, he became a teacher, and many of his students still keep in touch with him while he is fighting. “My students are producing great work, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see, especially now that I’m at war,” he says.

“The enemy must be met with weapons, not with a paintbrush. The people of Kherson came out with Ukrainian flags, and the Russian military threw grenades at their feet. We’ve been through this before in 2014. It’s not possible to stop the aggressor with a polite ‘get out, please,'” he asserts as a committed soldier.

He started to paint to uplift the spirits of his fellow soldiers and boost morale while they are on the frontlines.

After the war, Artur hopes to return to civilian life, start a family, and paint the beauty of nature. He also dreams to travel and see the world with his future family.

  2. ….unless you’re shoving that paintbrush in the enemy’s ear til only the bristles are showing.

    (FTFY Artur)

  3. The mural of the Cossack signalling to a ship is my favorite because it inspires my imagination. It tells a story that I can piece together in fantastic ways.

My thoughts immediately flew to deception, a craft which I love in its various forms. Did he fool the Russian navy into trusting him, allowing him to point them right into a trap?

In a war where controlling minds is a significant field of battle, and the opponent is so adept in the art, a victory in this arena is something to celebrate.

    As is the artist.

    👏 👏👏 👏👏 👏

  4. Usyk? I wish him full speed in his upcoming fight.
