  1. TL;DR Trump is Trumping and seems to lean toward unfriendly, but you never know with him. Ramaswamy is ChatGPT trained on alt-right internet edgelord crap. Others are good.

  2. Listen to anyone who lreads this post. I’m an American born and bread here on the east coast. Trump will not win the 2024 election. 200% Guarantee do not worry about his position in UKraine b/c it doesn’t mean a dam thing. I’m a conservative and I have favor Trump once a long time ago but in my job I talk to thousands of people a day and mostly conservative folks. Yea you have some Maga fans but they are talking behind his back b/c they don’t mind the division. But when it comes to going inside that pill booth and cast their votes I know many are not even going to vote for Trump. Conservatives are waking up slowly I might add but they are seeing the future and the GOP really has done crap for Everyday Americans. America shown in 2020 that we don’t want a sicko and again in 2022 when they lost the Senate 2024 will be no different. They will lose the house next and then the Democrats can do whatever. Shame on those who went against our Constitution and thought power and party was going to help you. Maga is trying to take over and lie to us everyday. We know it and the rest of the world should know that TRUMP will not win again ever. I haven’t talked to one person who said they don’t support 🇺🇦. They are fighting for freedom like we once did and also Happy Independence Day to all Ukrainians. You will win. We Gotta get these politicians to lift a finger more now then ever.

  3. Gotta love right-wing rhetoric.

“I would abandon this country. Not MY problem. Oh… you didn’t like that? I was actually talking about my opposition, lol. THEY aren’t doing enough!”

We REALLY need to get rid of populists. The double-speak from them is so tiresome.

  4. Mike Pence, while forever stained as a VP to Trump, is old school enough to know what’s up.

God I wish McCain was still alive to see this.

  5. Trump was obviously going to be Trump but man, Vivek seems like a cunt with legs.

  6. Basically;

    * **Trump** doesn’t give a fuck.
    * **DeSantis** thinks US is too involved and politically entangled with the invasion and Europe’s NATO members should be doing most of the work.
    * **Scott** thinks America should be more involved with helping Ukraine.
    * **Hurd** is the most hawkish of the group and wants to escalate beyond just sending weapons to Ukraine, even wanting to establish a no-fly zone. Hurd more or less thinks Putin’s threats of escalation are bluffs.
    * **Haley** thinks America should do more for Ukraine, but seemingly mostly for the objective of sending a message to China regarding Taiwan.
    * **Ramaswamy**… err, thinks all support for Ukraine should be cut, because driving Russia into a corner will just make them a vassal for China. He also thinks Ukraine should give up territorial claims. He basically wants to seduce Russia into being on better terms with the West than with China.
    * **Pence** is 100% for supporting Ukraine and is 100% against ever sending American troops to fight there. He also wants to dissuade China from doing the same to Taiwan.
    * **Christie** is supportive of sending military aid to Ukraine, but also sees the war as a proxy matter with a view to China. He’s mocked Trump as being Putin’s puppet, and DeSantis as being a modern-day Chamberlain.
    * **Burgam** thinks Russia has to lose, but like many others, he sees a victory for Russia as really being a win for China, which is unacceptable to him. He also wants Europe’s NATO members to contribute more cash, too.
    * **Hutchinson** is supportive of Ukraine and seems to be the most pan-Western (or at least pro US-European) of the group an is anti-isolationist. He also thinks America needs to hurry up with sending equipment to Ukraine, not just to beat Russia, but to warn China.
    * **Suarez** supports giving Ukraine aid, and seems to have more overt Cold War era-esque ideological views on the war. He apparently also wants Europe to do more.

  7. Well, as a populist his statement is, of course, perfectly in line with what most of his voters think. 71% of Repulicans say Congress should not authorize additional funding, and 59% think the US has done enough to support Ukraine. (Among Democrats 62% want additional founding, 61% say the US should do more, according to a [CNN poll](https://edition.cnn.com/2023/08/04/politics/cnn-poll-ukraine/index.html).)

So of course he offers a “magic solution” to end the Ukraine war within 24 hours. It’s what most of his supporter want, for the war to simply stop, no matter the outcome.

  8. If the US stops standing by Ukraine and the European NATO countries, what will this tell China about Taiwan?

  9. Anyone following American politics closely?
From reddit i’d deduce that most likely it’s either deSantis or Trump, right?

Vivek seems like he is simply an antithesis of a bright man

  10. I love how they go “This is Europes problem”, but then when we say the same about Taiwan they act up.

  11. Is Pence running as a candidate?! That’s hilarious.

Hasn’t he destroyed his reputation by being Trumps lapdog?

  12. Vivek seems like a smart guy from what I seen so the take regarding ukraine seems a bit surprising, I don’t think he has the popular support for that stance and it will only hurt his election chances, maybe not for republicans but in a general election

  13. I uploaded the debate portion involving Ukraine and Russia as well [here](https://reddit.com/r/europe/s/eJVmQ4MqWW) it’s 12min long and involved Pence, Vivek, Haley, Christie and DeSantis.

Haley and Vivek went back and fourth a lot. Vivek accused Haley of being owned by Raytheon and Lockheed Martin and Haley ripped into Vivek for wanting to abandon Taiwan, Ukraine and Israel

  14. The US:

“We really like weapons. We love them so much. We’ll make lots of them. And we can sell them!”

    Some of Europe

“Okay. I mean. We don’t like them as much as you do. And also if we were ever at war just like in world war 2. Having our weapons production on the other side of the world can be useful because the enemy can’t strike resource production that far. So how about we buy from you?”

    US

    “Sounds great!”

    -war happens-

    “Oh. We’re too involved. Bye”

Some US Leaders are really brain stupid.
