Isn’t it good, Swedish plywood: the miraculous eco-town with a 20-storey wooden skyscraper

  1. Lack of positivity in this thread.

The more we utilise and integrate renewables into every aspect of our lives, the better the planet will be in the long term.

Keep in mind that like 80% of Sweden is basically forest. It’s smart and intelligent use of resource.

  2. The thing is, how green is this wood, really, if used for beams in traditional construction?

Concrete, I get, because concrete is an ecological blackhole.

But steel is a primarily a ecological one-time cost and then it’s super recyclable.

For wood they still need to process it, which is probably only partly green plus they need to coat it with fire retardant, I have no idea how green it is, but I can’t imagine that it’s not at least partly derived from fossil fuels.
