What the fuck is wrong with these people? Kids shouldn’t be at big festivals, and the parents that take them are wildly irresponsible.
I’m pretty sure, even as a “family” festival, the organisers never expected people to turn up with a 3 week old baby.
6+ months sure, babies are a lot more sturdy by then, but newly born?
Stupid, stupid parents.
Who the fuck takes a newborn baby to a fucking festival? WTF is *wrong* with people!?
Irresponsible parenting at its best. At three weeks old this is the last place for a newborn.
Probably taken the kid there for Internet clout. Poor bairn
I took a 1 week old baby to a VW Festival. That 1 week old baby is now 13 and destroying a bedroom. But then we were in a fully kitted out campervan with literally all mod cons.
But people are all too quick to judge, none of you have any idea what the baby died of or any of the circumstances surrounding it. For all you know the child could have had an underlying health condition.
3 weeks is pre the majority of vital inoculations isn’t it?
To those screeching about taking a baby to a festival, kindly explain what about being at a festival is fatal for babies.
It’s always the parents fault.
That is how we can cope with the idea that bad shit might happen to us.

I worked Camp Bestival for a good 6 years. [Camp Bestival is a festival for families with kids](https://dorset.campbestival.net/line-up) Dick and Dom and Mr Tumble are performing there as well as Horrible Histories and loads of other stuff that’s for kids. There’s one small area for the adults that’s open late.
Please don’t think it’s anything like Boomtown, Reading/Leeds, or whatever your experience was back in the 90’s (I’ve been to all of these as well as many others). Festival’s are very different and cater for their specific audiences.
It’s full of toddlers and kids, some babies, but I haven’t seen a baby as young as 3 weeks old before. That’s the story, not the state of the festival. This could’ve happened in a Cornish Airbnb or camping in Norfolk at such a vulnerable age. That’s the tragedy.
Bestival is in big shit for this if they didn’t specify a minimum age limit. There’s no way a 3 week old baby can be safe at a festival, they should never have been allowed on site. Obviously the parents are in shit too.
