Very tricky here. As clearly any assistant dog is allowed in all places and treated apart from any animal ban (quite rightly and equality act). However, a dog is still a dog when you are a landlord. Can see this from both sides
The equalities act 2010 watered down the rights disabled ppl had under the DDA. so easy to get away with this.
There’s very little that can be done here short of legislation forcing landlords to give priority to people with disabilities that require a service animal, which will never happen.
Landlords don’t have to give a reason for rejecting you. They can just say no.
It’s shite and I don’t agree with it but I can’t see a workable solution.
