French police and border control really need to get off their arses and start doing their jobs, instead of sitting on the beach and turning a blind eye to human traffickers.
Here’s an idea… gift them a safe passage on a cross-channel ferry, and on the way over take names, and then start the process of identifying valid vs non-valid status before they get past the immigration border.
So far I have heard of only a couple of people smugglers getting arrested, that was directly after the recent deaths. I’m told the smugglers are involved because they buy the boats for the migrants. How come more aren’t getting caught? Would seem obvious to me to keep tabs on places that sell these boats, can’t be too many?

As much as the Australian model sucks, refusing to accept people is a solid reason not to risk the crossing for most migrants
Couldn’t we employ a fleet of rescue boats that intercepted these boats, rescued the poor souls, did a 180 and droped the back in France? I mean obviously France is a war torn hell hole, must be.
We all know how this ends especially in these frigid winter waters.
To focus her mind in finding a humane solution maybe Patel should assist the UK emergency services or coastguard the next time poor souls start washing up on shore.

Please stop. We have enough doctors and dentists already. The two that live opposite me also have a nice trade in knackered old cars, don’t know where they find the time, I thought doctors were overworked.
The British public is not racist or even anti-immigration, I have no idea why everyone on this sub thinks it is. People simply want to feel like we have control over it, and can decide who comes to live here and who doesn’t. Tens of thousands arriving by boat and 300,000 net migration pre-Brexit is not having the situation under control, which is why Brexit was voted for and why people are not happy about people crossing in inflatable boats.
On this sub, anyone who doesn’t think we should have unlimited, uncontrolled immigration is portrayed as a racist, which is bollocks.
