Get your heads together and work out how to deal with 2M infections a day lads, ‘cos if the only solution is no Christmas/New Year socialising… There is no achievable solution.
So what if we just tell all vulnerable to stay at home and let everyone else just get infected? Would that be the end of the pandemic?
The way we’re going in circles I don’t see it going anywhere. Even if we lock down because of omicron (which will need to be a significant lockdown and for over a month to have any effect), another variant will come soon and we’re back in the same problem.
Remember when we were told that the vaccines were the exit strategy/ path to freedom? I certainly don’t feel very free.
So, in a month everyone could have natural immunity…I vote for this!
Communist cunts aren’t ruining my Xmas for a second Successive year.
Thankfully we Pigeons are exempt from wearing masks
We also don’t have to have vacinnes
Funnily enough I’m in the process of genetically modifying a Godzilla sized Pigeon and when that happens we will be your overlords
It will be glorious because we’ll get shitloads of peanuts
Locking down would essentially mean the vaccines are pointless. There will be an indefinite amount of lockdowns then because there is an indefinite amount of variants. The UK has over a trillion in debt for fucks sake, look at the debt to GDP ratio.
And people wonder why there is a building anti-science sentiment. At the end of January you just have to look back at this to see none of what the “experts” said was right and why the fuck should anything they say be taken seriously.
Lets have 2m cases a day. 10mil a day who cares, it’s the mildest variant ever.
The number of cases is totally irrelevant. The number of hospital beds taken and deaths is all that matters.
Don’t worry. We just need to create more super variants until we get to the Omega variant and then we won’t be able to name them any more after that one.
I’m not an anti vaxxer. Read my comments and you’ll see what my views on those cave people are.
But what’s clear is the vaccine drive hasn’t delivered the protection we expected which is fucking depressing and very worrying.
Hopefully boosters are the solution. But if they do indeed reduce serious illness by 80% then even that won’t be enough with the sheer volume of omicron cases we can expect. That can only be mitigated by putting real pressure on the r rate – which means lockdowns and then what next year when we have another variant?
We will have another variant because having a highly vaccinated population in a virus vaccine that doesn’t PREVENT the virus or it’s spread just puts pressure on it to mutate. The more infections you put into that scenario the higher probability of a bad mutation. Given we use the vaccines to excuse “unlocking”, hence pushing r rate back up, this becomes an inevitability and we will see this on repeat every year until we have a vaccine or treatment that actually kills the damn thing – that’s the only way we can wipe this out like we did measles, polio etc.
Honestly a vaccine that doesn’t stop spread is dumb, we are almost better off without, except we are not so let’s continue to take it, but the margin we are better off by is so fucking small is it really worth the cost?
This virus is gonna finish the west off
Stupid fucking names like circuit breaker annoy me almost as much as the lockdowns themselves
So we either lockdown till Easter again, or do nothing and everyone will of had it by next month.
