  1. The cables are somewhere on the list of things that contributed to the price increase, but nowhere near the top. The Russian invasion of Ukraine and the consequent weaning off their fossil fuels would top it, followed by water levels.

    Right now electricity prices are low again, but the cables are still there, aren’t they? It just got a lot wetter, and Europe has come some way in adjusting to the new energy situation.

    The cables will make electricity more expensive sometimes, less expensive other times, depending on the pricing in Europe. Overall they’re economically beneficial for Norway, and adds stability and security to the system.
