He basically doesn’t like this new star wars series and moans for most of the article. Save people a read.
God I love Patrick Freyne.
I think I’ve come to accept that Andor and Mandolorian S1 are the exceptions and not the rule.
Reads like they are someone who takes a shit in their own cereal, and eats it.
Star wars is for nerds change my mind
Star Wars is the new avocado toast!
Imagine getting paid to write this
>The postrevolutionary Jedi belief system is vague and light on detail. This is possibly because many of these characters already exist in a vast, extended Star Wars universe of tie-in novels, animated TV series, video games, cheese dreams and fan fiction. The first episodes of Ahsoka don’t even try to stand alone. You’re required to do a pile of homework to fully appreciate the references in franchise material these days. And this is why everything is going to the dogs. **Yes, young people may know Ahsoka’s backstory in painful detail, but if they hadn’t watched all seven seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars they might own a house now.** (This piece was originally written for The Irish Times’ opinion pages, so we’re keeping this as the headline.)
If someone watches two hours of Clone Wars a day, for example on the bus/train for an hour in the morning and the same in the evening after work it would only take 27 days to watch all 7 seasons of Clone Wars.
I can’t really tell what the angle on that article is but I think it should have stayed in the opinion pages rather than TV & Radio section. Prosethic Tenticles, Glowy swords, Space wizards. I don’t think he is even reviewing it, just having a rant about…something? Politics? Young People?
This was a good read, besides andor, Disney’s Star Wars efforts have been painfully boring, they have all the tension of a Saturday morning cartoon. I got to about halfway through Mando S3 and came to the conclusion that I actually don’t care about any of these characters
Watched Ashoka this morning while sipping my almond milk latte & eating my avocado toast, will never own a home at this rate.
Irish times opinion piece makes tongue in cheek title to titillate readers. r/Ireland redditor takes it too seriously and reposts it. Others in group begin ranting. This is the way.
Can confirm. I stopped watching any and all Star Wars after the disappointing Episode 8, and since then I purchased a house and kept up with my mortgage payments.
