One of the fundamental problems with third-level education in Ireland is the universities themselves. Maynooth is a town of 15,000 people, with a student body of a similar size.
In no way whatsoever could Maynooth ever house that many students.
Maynooth has grown rapidly over the last 20 odd years, from about 5000 students to its current numbers. What did the university do to house that trebling of student numbers? Hearne is PBP and wants everything provided by the State, but we live in the real world. Where were those students meant to live?
