At the moment, the early news indicates two potentially fatalities after the car lost control and flipped.

It’s believed that the people in the car are young adults after receiving their Leaving

  1. My god, probably heading out to enjoy themselves after the results 🙁

  2. Gardaí have said ‘initial indications’ are that a number of people have died in the crash near Clonmel in Co Tipperary

  3. Ah fuck, that’s awful. Really hope no fatalities.

  4. Several homes will get that dreaded knock on the door to tell them their loved ones have been injured or died. Thoughts are with everyone involved

  5. A day that probably began with huge relief and excitement ends in utter emptiness for some families tonight. I know the community will close ranks around them. RIP.

  6. The gardai statement about multiple fatalities makes me think its more than 2 unfortunately. I don’t think they normally put out statements like this. The “early indications suggest” part of the statement has me very worried it could be a high number. What a tragedy. RIP

  7. I’ve heard there’s four dead, including siblings. Absolutely horrendous. For anyone who knows the area, it’s an odd place for a single car crash, it’s just outside the town centre.

  8. Must have been a hell of a crash for a single car. RIP to those who lost their lives, absolutely heartbreaking 💔

  9. This is terrible. People will be banging on about young people driving too fast but the road is what killed them. The mountain rd there is one of the worst surfaced roads I have seen in the country. That particular stretch is really bad. It had just rained as well. Should have been resurfaced years ago. The Tipp council should have to answer for this. The young driver was likely going fast alright but the loss of control on the straight could only have been because of the potholes and uneven surface. Meanwhile they just put a new surface up the mountain at Harneys cross where no one really needs it. Angry. Very sad. Condolences to anyone involved.
