This cycling ad I remember. This is the only part of it that I 100% remember, I remember it for multiple reasons.

What Irish ads do you remember most and if there’s a reason, why?

  1. What do you think of the cycling ad? What do you like/dislike about it and if you remember it too, why?

  2. I don’t know what a tracker mortgage is

Surprisingly some people who had/have tracker mortgages still don’t know what itis when they’re giving out about increasing interest rates.

  3. I always come back to that Renault ad of the “afford to live again” campaign, with a dude telling his wife that they are all going out to dinner as a treat and the posh dad who turned off the heating.

    I just find them funny.

Then there is this eerie “Vulnerable Road Users” RSA ad with a dark synth and piano track that I always really liked. It’s an ad I come back to because it’s like a tiny mindfuck thriller ha ha

  4. Dusty Springfield singing for the ESB at Christmas time!

  5. I want to walk you home, do do do do do do.

You look so good to me, oohh ooohh eeee

  6. How many bones has a body got?!

    A child’s got many more!

    🎵Them bones, them bones need……calcium!🎵

  7. I’m old enough to remember the mad anti ira ads on in the early 90’s, like the one where the kid is waiting for his ruc dad to come home but he’s been shot by 2 lads with uzis in a stair well. All set to cats in the cradle…there were other ones as well, but that one is seared into my memory. They didn’t even wait until after 9 to show them

  8. Because the fact everyone else has brought up horrific Road safety ads.

    I’m going to say this

Does anyone remember old Power City ads?? DIS WASHING MACHINE AND DIS MICROWAVE ARE HALF PRICE…. AND DIS…
You get the picture. Can’t find one anywhere

  9. I wonder how many of you know what these lines came from:

“Did you put the cat out”?

    “Tá siad ag teacht”

“It’s the next best thing to growing your own, Jim says”.

“The French lads seem to be enjoying themselves”

    And of course

“Sally O’Brien and the way she might look at you”

  10. Go easy on the sausages…or posh spice wheelchair girl

  11. Pint of Harp and a packet of dates please. Stuck in my head for about 25 years.

  12. Don’t forget to turn the lights off.

How about you mind your own fucking business.

  13. There use to be a Carlsberg ad set in a foreign country where some Irish lad was trying to impress a good lucking girl with what he claimed was Irish poetry but it was just very basic Irish words that didn’t even make much sense.
It probably came out in about 2010 ish if I can remember right I wasn’t even old enough to buy a Carlsberg when it came out
