Any idea why some car and motorcycles have this EU logo and country code in black background instead of blue one. I have seen quite of them recently. Is it some symbolic meaning/protest?

Custom places. At least in the case of that car, it seems to just be for aesthetics since the car itself is also black and white.
Stickers covering the blue EU part to make plate “look cooler/better”. Also illegal
