First time getting on a flight to Helsinki and all the cabin crew say (what I hear to be) “hey”.
“That’s pretty casual, almost rude”, I thought to myself
In fact, in many european countries Shark is called Hai. Estonia (and Finland), Latvia, Sweden (Norway & Denmark), Netherlands and Germany…
And if you think of it geographically, maybe it comes from trade in the Baltic sea.
