Hey!

This is quite a sensitive topic, and I hope not to offend anyone.
What is the opinion in general in Norway about surrogacy?
There is a lot of discussion about it in my home country, since at the end you are buying a baby.

Not to mention that we are taking a baby away from the biological mother and the baby will have questions in the future.

For those that say “those women choose to go through surrogacy and no one forces them…” well, let me tell you something. In the article I just read the mothers are from South America. It is usually people that *need* money and are desperated who do this.
I do not think i have met a single woman that would put herself into surrogacy unless she was desperated enough.

Reading the comments of the news that I just saw (picture added to the post),, not a single person has something bad to say about surrogacy, and everyone was having really positive messages towards the “new parents” ….why?
Is it really necessary to pay a woman to carry a baby for 9 months, go through pregnancy, separate a small baby from the mother in exchange of money…just to satisfy our own needs? Can someone explain me why? How this is not just abuse of power more privileged people have over poorer people?
If what they want is a child…why not go for an adoption? There are many kids with no parents looking for their forever homes, and they need them…

Hope we can have a respectful debate.
