Anything with separate funding that requires a €50M taxpayer bailout should be stood down, and leadership investigated.

So many people on insane money, but instead of cutting salaries or changing how things are run, they just demand more money.
Sell some land instead.

No sense throwing good money after bad. Let it fail then go in and rebuild something new with the assets that are left.
All staff from teamaker to top presenters can reapply for their jobs at reasonable pay levels. Not just the overpaid presenters but the crews getting double and triple time because they work on an evening show.
Give RTE enough of the license fee to run news, current affairs, sport and arts content. Distribute a bigger share to support more content on local radio. Give a bigger chunk out as grants to online content creators. Make it similar to the BAI Sound and Vision where creators that fulfill a certain niche or serve certain demographics get a yearly stipend to run their podcast, YouTube channel, Twitch stream or whatever it is. RTE spend a fortune on content for grannies. If they’re going to demand young people pay a licence fee they should support the content younger people want.
I read today that they’re 4.5 mil short because people haven’t paid their licences, how then are they actually 50 mil short or will be, I cannot see how those extrapolations are being calculated, what kind of operation is being run there it is just atrocious!! I’m pretty pissed that my money is both used to fund them as part of the TV licence and in my taxes. I do want a national broadcaster but they need a total and utter overhaul stat.
Wipe the slate clean. Sack the leeches on big money. Bring in a new generation of talent on realistic salaries. Bring in new, young creatives and producers to shape a new direction for RTE. Consider a re-brand. Give people a reason to pay their licences.
