Hey guys, i want to bake some sweet stuff (cinnamon rolls or cake) and i need flour, but i only know in germany weizenmehl 405 or all purpose flour is usually used for baking
Here i find “vehnäjauho” which is translated into “normal flour” but there is also some kind of “special flour” what is this used for?

  1. It’s for cakes. Puolikarkea is for buns and rolls. The picture on the Sunnuntai package is a bit misleading.

  2. The special wheat flower, “erikoisvehnäjäuho”, is supposedly best for creating a crumbly texture, such as cakes and pie crusts. It is coarser than the alternative, “puolikarkea”, which is intended for kneaded dough. I never noticed any difference in the result and buy whatever has the lowest price.
