Hopefully their arms industry suffers from all this. Seriously, why would anyone buy arms from Switzerland when they are going to play neutrality games when you need them the most?

It doesn’t have to be a gift. A well structured lease/loan would work.
It’s not like the Swiss lack decent lawyers and bankers.
As a citizen of a formerly “neutral” country, I’ve always regarded it as a somewhat questionable posture to take. Finland fortunately progressively abandoned the stance in 1995 (EU) and 2023 (NATO). My wish was for the latter to happen 25 years earlier, but the political inertia was considerable in Finland also.
Fundamentally you stay in the sidelines, and when issues that MUST be dealt with come up, you trust someone else to do it. In Ukraine’s case, if we all did what Switzerland is doing, we’d allow an unimaginable evil to happen.
Neutrality is comfortable, often profitable, but intellectually lazy and morally dubious.
Ukraine should offer them gold. The Swiss will get an immense boner and immediately shout “DEAL!”
Then they will be scrapped in 10 years. What is Switzerland doing?
