There’s this box in the bathroom wall and I notice it has been making a bigger humming noise for the past one week. What does this do, and is the humming noise normal? I live in an apartment if that makes a difference.

That’s the ventilation. If you have it, perhaps you also have the control in the exhaust hood for the stove. I though these were more in independent houses and apartments would have a centrally controlled ventilation.
