I’m talking about this company here

I have been thinking to get my myopia/nearsightedness corrected for some time now, and can’t stop noticing the incessant ads of this company in the tram and buses, at least in Zürich and Bern (I suppose it’s the same in Basel)

When I looked up the prices for Laser Eye Surgery (LASIK/ PRK), they offer a lower price than most other places. Also, their Google reviews are quite high.

Did someone here get Laser Eye Surgery ? Are there people who got it done through this company ? Are you satisfied ?

  1. I know there are other places too that offer those kind of surgery, if you got it done somewhere else, feel free to share your experience. It’s just that this company has been showing ads like crazy in the tram and buses in Zürich and Bern for several months, so they caught my attention

  2. All experiences from laser eye surgery have been bad around my friends.

    Honestly risking your eyesight is not worth the risk just to avoid wearing glasses.

  3. The founder is Dr Theo Seiler who is a pioneer in laser eye surgery, so its definitely a legitimate and established business. The incessant ads could just be a new marketing head they hired to expand the business since laser eye surgery has become a very crowded field. The good news is that with competition prices have plummeted, you can get both eyes done with Trans-PRK for CHF 2,500. You used to have to go abroad for those prices, now you can have it done here with all the after care and protections of a regulated Swiss establishment.

  4. I did get a surgery at youseebasel in January and there was not a single complication. I can’t say anything bad about the whole procedure and the people who work there. It’s fast and professional.

    There are risks, of course, but they are so small that there’s a higher risk of you getting overrun by a car. I told myself “Don’t overthink it, just do it”. I decided to do it on the 1st of January and was done with all the check ups and the procedure on the 13th.

    I can only tell from my experience but I would do it again at the same company. The incredible feeling of not having to rely on glasses anymore is life-changing.

    Your first appointment where they check the basics is free and you can even ask for more information when you‘re there.
