Has anything “Grossly insensitive and disrespectful” ever stopped Catholic Church?
When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.
It’s the Catholic Church. Are we really surprised?
RC mafia.
So the protesters don’t want Dolan to say mass, not because of abuse, or cover ups, but because of how he delt with the financial impact? I am sorry but that is just bogus. Fr Tony Flannery specified his poor record on synodality and knowing Trump. But that is not a valid reason to cancel a guest. The US has an absolute toxic litigation culture. Fair enough to ask for apologies for guilty clerics and seek paid for counselling, but vast law suits where only expensive law firms benefits are a reasonable demand.

They complain about the church being nearly dead in Ireland.
They have also gone out of their way over the years to attack, silence, gaslight and finally ignore the survivors of industrial scale child rape.
Do you think they’ll ever someday join the dots?
The internal politics: Eamon Martin has been AB of Armagh since 2014 and not yet made a Cardinal. The previous time gaps for that to happen are in years: 11, 1, 2, 2, 7, 1, 3, 6. The 11 year gap of Brady might be to do with Connell in Dublin being a Cardinal 2001-2004.
If Martin is now seen to be promoting an anti Pope Francis figure has he made (another) mistake or just given up on getting the red hat?
