School meals should be basic human rights for all kids in Britain. It ensures kids are fed and ready to learn, removes a stigma from kids getting a free meal when all kids get it and the cost isn’t really that high, money is there it just continues to be misspent by the Tories.
Free food for kids shouldn’t be controversial opinion to hold in a country that claims to care about future generations
When the local elections were taking place and Emily Thornbury was out door-to-door campaigning, I recall this being a topic of conversation.
I questioned her as to why Labour wouldn’t implement this—free lunches for all students.
She stormed off like the hissy-fit bint she is and wouldn’t talk about it.
If every big city in the UK adopts it, this is such a straightforward victory for the country’s future.
The fact we have managed to go backwards in how we treat our society is astonishing.
You think this shit would be happening in the 1950s? No chance
