Hello, I am going to travel by train from Berlin to Cologne with lots of luggages, with like 2 suitcases + large bag. (I am moving to Cologne to live there so bringing bunch of stuff). On the website of Deutsche Bahn ([https://www.bahn.com/en/trains/luggage](https://www.bahn.com/en/trains/luggage)), there seems to be no explicit limit on the amount of luggage allowed. However, when I was traveling the same train before, it was quite crowded, so I am not sure if it’s ok to bring so much luggages.Would it make sense to e.g. buy two tickets (with seat reservation), and use the second seat to put my stuff on? Or what would be a socially accetable way to travel with larger amount of luggages? (I guess that German trains don’t have any dedicated place for extra luggages?)

  1. There are areas for you to stow away your luggage if you’re traveling with ICE. If you’re traveling with the regional trains (RE) then you’ll be in the area with the bikes/wheelchairs/strollers which will be quite packed and uncomfortable.

No, because that’s not allowed. Seats are for passengers, not for luggage and bags and personal stuff. You can buy as many tickets and seat reservations as you want, if you don’t use the seats for sitting on it, they can be used by other passengers.

Maybe take a look at this: https://www.bahn.de/angebot/zusatzticket/gepaeck
