  1. It’s rare for me to agree with the housebuilding industry, but in this case I do.

    The main solution to excess water nutrietns is to require water companies to treat their sewage, including adding capacity to handle new housing, and to require farmers to manage water run-off from fields spread with manure or fertiliser.

    Simply blocking new housing while leaving the main causes un-addressed will do nothing for water quality while increasing housing stress for everyone.
