Viva boris! Viva tories! Viva all their corrupted system. What a shame. LOL
This is looking a lot different to what happened in South Africa and that is pretty concerning. If its not really more mild then its just exceptionally more transmissible and we have already got enough infections to cause serious problems with hospital capacity in a couple of weeks time.
Six deaths of Omicron or with Omicron.
Age and their health issues?
If all young people… Yes then let’s all panic because we are all going to die. (which we will all eventually)
They do realise 120 deaths from delta are being reported every day. Compared to the 6 in total from omicron
Is that old news now?
And some people seriously thought Omicron was a dead cat.
The 10k “confirmed” cases are but a fraction of the total Omicron cases. It takes time to sequence a sample etc.
Does anyone know if they tell you whether you have the Omicron variant?
I have just had covid and I’m still recovering. It was very bad for me, among many symptoms I was throwing up repeatedly for days and I was told my my GP that this is a symptom of the Omicron variant, but I also have the loss of smell/taste which is apparently not such an issue with Omicron. It sucked because I couldn’t keep pain/fever medication down. And the fever went on for days. I’m only 30 but it really took it out of me. I never managed to get the booster jab, but my husband did and he never tested positive.
I suppose there’s not really any benefit to me knowing, I’d have to behave the same regardless.
But as always, fails to say whether those who died have all their jabs? Or are they all over 90 with other health issues? Or those infected? Keeps saying lots more infected, but that’s not really giving the whole picture and is scaremongering. We’ve been told the importance of jabs and this would be a good place to show that effectiveness
I’m just so bored of the constant hysteria being pushed on everyone.
Everyone ran out of London/SE and clearly spread it thinking there was a lockdown coming and ruining their travel plans.
10 deaths is nothing for a flu and yes I know we’re far from peak. The reality is most at risk people are going to die every year from this like a normal flu, where are we setting the bar to what is acceptable? 2017/18 Winter we ran out of beds and had no lockdown.
Everyone is going to be exposed to this before the Spring. Basic fact now. It was always going to end up this way.
Time to say Hello again to our old friend lockdown…

S-gene Target Failure rates were over 50% for everywhere except the North East on 15th/16th Dec, so 2-3 days ago, over half the overall cases were almost certainly Omicron.

Which is why it’s now been declared that Omicron is the dominant strain in the UK
