People seems to be confused regarding left/right banks, so here is a little 101:
The right bank or side is always on the right side of the direction in which the water is flowing ie facing **downstream**, and the left bank is always the left hand side facing **downstream**. This is usually called the ‘true’ right bank or true left bank.
People really need to stop this East/West naming scheme and use North/South, at the very least for the stretch of river that mostly serves as a frontline right now. It is super confusing every time for a river that flows essentially eastward.
