For a guy that’s been sacked twice for lying, it’s very hard to sympathise with anyone who thought he was the one to represent the general public.
At this rate, Labour would win the next GE with a manifesto similar to 2017/2019s.
But no, they’ll go “moderate” (read: centre-right ‘n’ tory-lite) and claim that this was why they won, thus perpetuating the myth that Labour “need to be moderate to win elections”. A myth that the right love, and are happy to peddle all day long.
1997 was an unlosable election for Labour, and they didn’t need to do it then, and they don’t need to do it again now. Its a genuine shame for progressive policy-making and actual change taking place.
Thing is, for everything that’s happened since 2019, even the pandemic, the Tories could shout “Brexit” as an excuse.
But how do you use Brexit to excuse their members ignoring the restrictions the rest of us were expected to follow? You can’t. And so the ugly truth is revealed to those who didn’t want to know.
Yeah it turns out putting a jobby between two slices of bread and eating it still makes your breath stink of shit. Who could have guessed…
We’re only midway through this parliament. All this dirty deeds being highlighted will eventually run out of steam. Boris has another couple of years for the upside to all this. Boris is a survivor who’ll be PM until 2050.
“How weird that the Mercedes I bought on Wish for £4.99 turned out to be a scale model that bursts into toxic flames when left near a naked flame”
It was always the plan since the referendum, elect someone to get Brexit done who can be blamed for the fuck up that Brexit was always going to be.
If anyone thinks the party is demanding he gets his act together because they don’t like his antics, you’re wrong. They have no issue with his actions, they want him to be much better at not getting caught.
Brexit n Boris is fine when you are not dealing with crises. If the pandemic had never happened then Johnson might be looking far more unstoppable than he currently is. He could ride the storm of Brexit by blaming it all on the EU and people would lap it up, banking on populism would have worked well for him. COVID made it so that Johnson actually had to do some real work and that is when everything started to go wrong. Johnson makes a great puppet, it’s a role he is happy to play, he makes a terrible politician and he is not someone who can handle anything harder than a photo op.
