Jesus but that’s grim. I remember a teacher in my school was always eyeballing a girl in my class. During the mocks he sat on a desk in front of her and stared at her the entire time.
We had a teacher who coached the GAA teams, both male and female. Supposedly a few complaints were made due to his “liberal” application of the magic sponge. He smelled like piss and BO as well.
Another, young female teacher, caught a 6th year on the hop, drove him back to school and apparently told him she liked “bad boys”.
That’s a pretty grim read. Fucking scumbag teachers at that 😡
A couple of years ago I was having lunch in a hotel and heard a large table of teachers having a really inappropriate conversation about some of their students. Including speculating on which ones were having sex and with who, their family setups and exam results and who’d be pregnant first. They were incredibly indiscreet and I can only imagine what they say in the staffroom if that’s how they spoke in public.
Sexual harassment happened fairly often in the not too distant past. A lot of professions, not just the church, we’re rife with this sort of stuff. Granted the church was extra bad because the priests are supposed to be men of God, but I’ve heard too many awful stories and close encounters with predators at things like the scouts, football clubs, schools, after school events, etc. Seems like it happened a lot more pre-internet and mobile phones.
